The brief
To design a three-floor workplace for global law firm White & Case in Chicago that challenges conventional legal office design while supporting confidentiality, collaboration, and focus.
Our approach
Inspired by Chicago’s gardens, industrial infrastructure, and jazz and blues heritage, the design uses distinct palettes and spatial configurations across three floors. Evidence-based principles, angular office layouts, and intuitive wayfinding create a dynamic, neuroscience-informed workplace rooted in the city’s identity.
Angled office configurations and varied corridor sequences introduce spatial rhythm, creating a more engaging environment while supporting intuitive wayfinding.
Each floor tells a different Chicago story, translating the city’s parks, rail infrastructure, and music culture into a distinctive, contemporary workplace.
